A814 (Dumbarton Road; North of Roman Crescent) road closure to permit works to be undertaken by Network Rail.
SPT can confirm that funding has been agreed to provide a shuttle bus service that will operate for the duration of the forthcoming bridge works, confirmed by Network Rail to commence from 22:00 on Thursday 6th February 2020 until 06:00 on Monday 17th February 2020.
First Glasgow, who operate affected services 1 A/B/E have confirmed that west bound journeys will divert via Mountblow Road and the A82, re-joining the normal route on the A814 west of Old Kilpatrick, east bound journeys will divert via the A82 west of Bowling, then via Mountblow Road, re-joining the normal route at Dumbarton Road. As a result of the required diversion routes, services 1 A/B/E will be unable to serve Old Kilpatrick. Bowling will continue to be served in a westbound direction which will permit interchange with eastbound services at Milton.
A shuttle bus service will be operated by First Glasgow on behalf of Transport Scotland between Roman Crescent, Old Kilpatrick via Dumbarton Road to Dalmuir at a 30 minute frequency during the period of disruption, permitting interchange with diverted services 1 A/B/E.
On the school holiday and in-service days of Friday 7th, Monday 10th, Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th, the shuttle service will operate at a 30 minute frequency.
On the two affected operational school days; Thursday 13th and Friday 14th February, an additional shuttle bus will operate in the morning between 07:30 and 11:30, and in the afternoon between14:00 and 17:00 which will provide a combined shuttle bus frequency of 15 minutes during peak periods, to accommodate passenger loadings. SPT recommend that some additional time is allowed by passengers on all days affected where the shuttle will operate but particularly on the school days where the passenger volumes may be greater.
First Glasgow will provide on-vehicle, roadside and digital information updates to assist affected passengers. Affected passengers may gather further information relating to both First Glasgow services 1 A/B/E and also the shuttle bus service via their website.
